SDBR greatly appreciates any support that you can provide. We welcome any time commitment whether is be a one time offer or for ongoing support. Here are a couple of ways in which you can assist.

You can become part of our volunteer committee and help by:

1. Reviewing applications
2. Transporting dogs to and from the vet
3. Acquiring dogs from relinquishing homes or local shelters
4. Fostering and providing housing for Bulldogs waiting for placement. We are always looking for good foster homes so we don’t have to place a homeless dog at a boarding facility. A foster home is a temporary home for a bulldog that is “between” homes - typically that is 2-3 weeks, unless the dog has medical issues that must be resolved before placement. We ask foster homes/parents to give the dog a safe place to regain confidence and to teach, in a positive manner, him/her basic house manners, as needed. Bulldogs that come into our program are in desperate need of love, good care, guidance, and most need some basic training.
5. Request product and service donations from corporations

If you don't have time to volunteer, but can help financially, here are a few ways to help:

1. Direct donations; make the check to SDBR or donate online
2. Dog food, treats, leashes, collars, bedding
3. Bulldog-themed items, gift certificates, or other items that can be auctioned at our fundraisers

You can also assist SDBR by:

1. Talking about rescue programs and encouraging friends and family to adopt a dog in need.
2. Contact your local shelter and veterinarian and ask them to commit to calling SDBR when relinquished Bulldogs are in their care.
3. Link SDBR to your website
4. Post flyers and business cards at local shelters, vets, pet supply stores and other dog friendly establishments.
5. Educate those around you on the importance of buying puppies from reputable breeders who observe the BCA code of ethics.

Many of our rescue dogs need extensive veterinary care when first acquired, we also spay and neuter all Bulldogs that come into our program.
